Everyone has a little ego....you just need to grasp it.
It only takes a second to find it by simply asking a customer a few questions about them. Why they chose you, your company or your product, etc. And if you do it in the right ways not only do you get important demographic information that helps your company grow, not to mention a way for you to track your companies advertising money and where it is working and not working, (remember, advertisers talk up a big game to get you to advertise. Bottom line, they want your money. It is up to you to track it. ) which can save you from buying advertising that is not working for you at all, you also make the customer feel as if they are an important fixture to your business..like the old cheers song "You wanna go where everyone knows your name". I think that deep down most people like to frequent places where they are treated like they are very important or kind of a regular (by using there name, asking about their kids, remembering insignificant little things to show that you are sincerely interested in them, etc.. And of course providing them with a good and reliable product. I agree that this day in age there are to many tools to help you build and maintain a good and healthy customer base and customer relationship. Ive learned that buy doing a few of these things you can build good customer relationships. I'm new to this social media and blogging time like most of us are, but like with any business, product lines change or business procedures change and you have to learn them to continue to be one step ahead of the next guy..social media and blogging are like that new product line that is about to come out in your particular nitch or field and you have better be able to use it to your advantage to make that sale or up-talk your product.
And Remember, if you aren't doing it your competitor probably is...
